Please find below an overview of our genetic preservation service pricing for future pet and equine cloning. Further information can be found via our company brochure and by contacting us here. Step 1: Genetic Preservation – £600 (+ VAT if UK resident)
This is the first stage in the pet & equine cloning process. The submitted skin sample is preserved to enable long term storage. This service preserves the sample only. It does not test the sample viability. For viability testing, the below service of cell culture is required.
Step 2: Cell Culture – £1,600 (+ VAT if UK resident)
This is the second stage in the pet & equine cloning process. Skin cells within the submitted skin samples are grown in the laboratory to test that living cells are present within the sample. Successful cell culture is required before the cloning process can begin.
If you request genetic preservation & cell culture upon sample submission, then both services can be provided for £1,600 (+ VAT for UK residents).
Step 3: Sample Storage – £12 per month (+ VAT for UK residents)
This is the intermediate stage in the pet & equine cloning process. Preserved skin samples and cultured cells (as applicable) are preserved at -196 Degrees Celsius to enable long-term storage. Providing time for planning the next stages of pet or equine cloning. The storage fee can be paid monthly via standing order or yearly upon invoice generation.
Step 4: Independent DNA Profile – £150 (+ VAT if UK resident). This service is only available if the correct sample type is submitted
If a blood sample is available from your cat or dog, or a mane or tail hair sample with root attached from your horse, then we can also offer an independent DNA profiling test service for £150 (+ VAT for UK residents). This provides for an independent genetic profile of your animal only. This service can only be carried out in the UK if the correct sample type has been submitted, as detailed above.
Additional Information
If you are sending samples to our facility via courier and request use of our courier service for the transport, then transit fees will also be applied upon sample submission. When You Are Ready to Clone Your Cat, Dog, or Horse
Sample shipping to the USA-based ViaGen Pets & Equine from our UK facility is approximately £1,400 (+ VAT for UK residents). More information can be requested at the time of this service need.
Pet & Equine Cloning Costs at ViaGen Pets & Equine
Cat and Dog Cloning: $50,000 USD
Horse Cloning: $80,000 USD
Once your cat, dog, or horse has been cloned, there are additional fees, including transport to the animal owner once the cloned pet or equine is old enough to travel to their owner. All clients should contact ViaGen Pets and Equine ahead of starting the cloning process for a full quote. At Gemini Genetics, we can put you in touch with the team at ViaGen Pets when you are ready to progress to the final cloning stage.

All clients must contact us ahead of taking and sending a sample for genetic preservation for future cloning, so we can ensure correct procedures are being followed.
